IVV stands for Internationaler Volkssportverband and is an international recreational sports organization founded after the Second World War.
The core idea of the organization is that people stay physically active by exploring different routes and participating in various recreational sports events. During these activities, people meet each other, which strengthens interaction between nations and cultures and promotes mutual understanding and friendship.
The motto of IVV is:
“Experience the magic of nature, discover new routes, feel the spirit of community – welcome to IVV, where the journey itself is the destination and nature shows the way!”
In the Pirkanmaa region, there are currently 26 IVV routes. At Hiking Travel, you can receive a stamp for four of these routes:
• the winter skating route on Lake Näsijärvi
• three walking routes: Pyynikki Around, Kaupinoja–Niihama, and Makkarajärvi Loop.
